My quiet time this morning ended up in Ephesians 6 reading over the armor of God. As the focused and intense activity of Show Week for “The Snow Queen” is upon us, I am even more aware of the stresses taken on by the kids who go off to school and the adults who head out to work. Without the option to change your schedule during show week, your energy and focus, even your health, is more taxed and stretched. Tired bodies and minds are more susceptible to the enemy’s lies and influences. All the insecurities, fears and anxieties sneak in, magnified. And so my encouragement to my ACT1 family is this:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes… In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Eph. 6:10-11, 16.
Examine your armor this week, make sure it’s fitted snugly in place, and then use it. Draw your strength from the giver of life, the Lord. You all amaze me with your hearts of service, your grace under pressure, and your ability to ‘rise to the occasion’ and put on an amazing show. More than anything, I’m blessed and encouraged to see how you all love on each other and encourage one another. May you continue to have eyes to see and ears to hear, not just your cues and glow tape, but the hearts, hurts, and needs of those around you. I am blessed beyond measure to share this week with you and I will be praying for all of you as we continue to move forward through this fun-filled, whirl-wind of a week.
